One killed in road accident
An elderly woman was killed in a road accident on Wednesday night on Thakurgaon-Baliadangi road at Kalmegh village of Baliadangi upazila in Thakurgaon.
The victim was identified as Samiran, 60, wife of Azimat of Chata Shingia village under the same upazila.
Police said the accident occurred at about 1:30pm when a Thakurgaon-bound truck hit the woman when she was crossing the road, leaving her critically injured.
Locals rushed her to the Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries at night.
A case was filed with Thakurgaon Police Station in this connection.
