Journo Karim laid to rest
Eminent journalist MA Karim was laid to eternal rest at Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard yesterday after the second namaz-e-janaza on the premises of National Press Club.
Earlier, his colleagues, political leaders, journalists and well-wishers paid respect to his memories by placing wreaths on his coffin when the body was brought to the National Press Club at around 11:00am.
Lawmaker Fazle Nur Tapash, President of Communist Party of Bangladesh Manjurul Ahsan Khan, Awami League leader Nuh ul Alam Lelin, prime minister's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad and leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists, Dhaka Union of Journalists and the National Press Club joined the janaza.
His first namaz-e-janaza was held on Indira Road in the city on Friday night.
M A Karim, news editor of now-defunct Daily Azad and Banglar Bani, died of old age complications on Friday at the age of 70.
