Youth held for ransacking temple

A youth was arrested for ransacking a temple of Hindu community at Goshailedanga in Chittagong city on Saturday night. Resented, the Hindus staged demonstration on Sunday afternoon demanding arrest of the involved culprits within 24 hours, and threatened tougher movement. According to police and witnesses, some miscreants broke open the Goshiledanga Sree Sree Shasman Kalibari Mandir (temple) around 11:00pm. Led by alleged terrorist Masud, the group, all drunkards, vandalised Shiblinga, Ghat, Narayan Murti (statue of Krishna), and furniture of the temple. Locals captured Rinku, one of the miscreants, and handed him over to police on Sunday after beating. Mandir Committee President Milon Chowdhury filed a case against nine with mentioning two names including Rinku with Bandar Police Station.
