Strong civil bureaucracy stressed
Industries Minister Dilip Barua yesterday said the country needs a strong civil bureaucracy imbued with democratic spirit for building an industrially and economically developed Bangladesh.
“The scope of flourishing civil bureaucracy brightens with the flourishing of democracy… Bangladesh needs strong civil bureaucracy,” he said while speaking at a farewell reception at the BCIC conference room.
The function was arranged to give farewell to outgoing Industries Secretary Dewan Zakir Hossain.
Barua urged the civil servants to make their best efforts imbued with the democratic spirit to build an industrially developed Bangladesh.
He said the new national industrial policy, widely appreciated and accepted by all, will play a vital role in strengthening the country's economy.

acting Industries Secretary KH Masud Siddiqi, Bangladesh Accreditation Board Chairman Advocate M Moinuddin Miazi, BIM Director General Abdur Rab Khan, BSEC Chairman M Abu Hafiz, BSTI DG AK Fazlul Ahad and BSFIC Chairman Ranjit Kumar Biswas also spoke on the occasion.
Joint Industries Secretary M Khalilur Rahman Siddiqi presided over the function.
