Anti-liberation forces based in London, say ministers
Anti-liberation force, responsible for crimes against humanity in 1971, has been based in London to spread propaganda and plan plots against Bangladesh abroad, especially across Europe.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith and Industries Minister Dilip Barua said this at a public meeting organised by the UK Awami League on Saturday in London.
The ministers also said the force is providing refuge to the plotters in London.
Banned extremist outfit in Bangladesh, Hizb ut Tahrir, staged a small demonstration outside the venue during the meeting.
In response to the Tahrir protest, Barua said a duty of UK Awami League is to identify those responsible for war crimes and sheltering plotters and war criminals.
Muhith also attended a meeting at London's City Hall, which was hosted by London Assembly Member Murad Qureshi and Sylhet Sadar Association on Friday.
In the meetings, he said the Bangali community in the UK could contribute to the development of Bangladesh by forming think tanks to assist with policies.
He urged the expatriate and non-resident Bangladeshis to invest in power, transport and higher education sectors in Bangladesh.
