Police yet to recover valuables
Police has yet not made any headway in recovering the valuable materials stolen two days ago from Chittagong Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Divisional Stadium, one of the venues being readied for World Cup Cricket next year.
Twenty miscreants pretending to be workers entered the stadium around 2:30am on Saturday, and took away the materials worth Tk 4 lakh, on a truck with the security guards and workers taken hostage at gunpoint.
The materials were bought for constructing floodlight towers and roof canopy.
Renovation of the venue, scheduled to end by October, might get delayed if the materials are not recovered soon, since they are to be imported from abroad.
