Death threat to high govt official
Director General of Directorate of Primary Education, Shyamal Kanti Ghosh, received a death threat through a short message service (SMS) on his mobile phone yesterday.
"The SMS, sent from 01744830490, reads, 'I will kill you! for primary results…Al Kariatul Mal Karia…Hizb ut Tahrir,'" said Shyamal.
He said this is the second time he received such SMS. On September 16, he was threatened with bombing at his office from the same mobile number.
The sender claimed to be a member of banned outfit Hizb ut Tahrir of Comilla district in the earlier SMS, he added.
The DG filed two general diaries (GD) with Mirpur Police Station.
