Driver arrested over snatching
Armed snatchers took away Tk 3 lakh from a youth at East Nasirabad in the port city yesterday.
Atiqur Rahman, 25, was going on a rickshaw to BRAC Bank to deposit the money around 11:15am.
As his rickshaw reached close to the Daily Purbokone office, three snatchers waylaid him at gunpoint.
Police arrested Jasim, 35, driver of the CNG-run auto rickshaw used in the mugging, and seized Tk 10,000 from him.
Assistant Commissioner of Panchlaish Zone of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, Rezaul Masud, said they collected details of the auto-rickshaw after getting its registration number from Atiqur, and questioning the arrestee.
Atiqur filed a case with Panchlaish Police Station.
