CID summons Ibrahim's wife
CID investigators yesterday summoned slain Awami League activist Ibrahim Ahmed's wife Rina Islam to CID office at Malibagh in the city.
The investigators also visited the place of occurrence.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Khandaker Abdul Halim of CID, also investigation officer of the Ibrahim murder case, told The Daily Star that they summoned Rina as part of the investigation.
He however declined to disclose the findings from Rina.
A CID investigation team including ASP Halim and Special Superintendent of Police Sheikh Maruf Hasan visited the place of occurrence.
Rina told The Daily Star that ASP Halim asked her to meet them at CID office at noon and accordingly she reached the office at 1:30pm and left it around 2:30pm.
She said, during the meeting, the CID personnel inquired of her conjugal life and the happenings before and after the murder incident.
“I arranged a milad mahfil for the departed soul of Ibrahim at a local mosque in Segunbagicha yesterday” she said.
Awami League activist Ibrahim was killed by ruling party lawmaker Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon's pistol in his car parked at Block-6 in front of the MP Hostel at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban complex on August 13.
Following the incident Shaon's driver Kamal Hossain Kala, who is now in jail, filed an unnatural death case but later as per court directives police filed a murder case in this connection.
