World Heart Day observed
Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital (JBFH) in collaboration with Citycell observed the World Heart Day yesterday for raising awareness towards heart diseases.
This year's theme is "Build a healthy work environment, keep your heart sound."
To mark the day, a free health check up of 1,200 people was conducted on JBFH premises. Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister GM Quader inaugurated this programme, said a press release.
A workshop and a seminar on the role of mass awareness to prevent heart diseases were also held at JBFH. Medical experts, cardiologists, celebrities, representatives from various professional groups participated in the program.
Nazmul Hasan MP, Citycell Chief Marketing Officer Kafil HS Muyeed, Chief Sales and Distribution Officer Mahboob Hossain were also present at the seminar.
Prof Dr MS Akbar, MP, Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Dr Mizanur Rahman Shelly, Dr Jonaid Shafiq, Director, Channel I Shiekh Siraj, Film Director and Actor Afjal Hossain, Actress Mita Noor, Adviser, JBFH AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul, Director, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Z Mahmud Mamun and Managing Director, Laparoscopic Surgeon, Dr Sarder A Nayem.
