Two killed, six hurt in road mishap
At least two people were killed and six others injured in separate road accidents in Gaibandha and Magura yesterday.
Our correspondent from Gaibandha reports: One person was killed and five others were injured when a three-wheeler skidded off on Bonarpara-Gaibandha road at Muktinagar in Gaibandha yesterday.
Locals said the three-wheeler with passengers on board skidded off the road as the driver lost his control over steering at Muktinagar and hit a roadside tree.
The driver of the three-wheeler Shawpon Mia,17, of Kulipatti of Bonarpara died on the spot. The injured persons were admitted to local clinic.
Our correspondent from Magura adds: A woman was killed and a youth critically injured in a road accident on Magura-Faridpur highway at Hulinagar in Magura yesterday.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, aged about 32.
Quoting witnesses police said the accident occurred around 4:30pm when a shallow engine driven human-hauler from Kamarkhali hit a Magura-bound three-wheeler killing the woman on the spot and injured its driver Mohibur, 32.
Locals rushed the injured driver to Magura Sadar Hospital.
