Cargo ship catches fire
A fire was broke out at a cargo ship of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC), which was being repaired at Chittagong Dry Dock yesterday night.
Originated from sparks on the 4th floor of BSC-owned Banglar Shikha around 7:30pm, the fire spread fast to the 3rd floor, said Senior Station Officer Abdul Malek of CEPZ Fire Station.
''Black smoke was coming out of the two floors of the ship. We along with the fire fighters of Bangladesh Navy brought the fire under control around 9:00pm,'' added Malek. The extent of damage could not be ascertained immediately.
