Tender for elevated expressway in Nov
Says minister
The tender for construction of elevated expressway in the city will be floated next month which will be done under Public-Private Partnership (PPP), Communications Minister Syed Abul Hosain said yesterday.
He said the government would start construction of stockyard by January which will be used for storing Padma Bridge construction materials.
The minister unveiled the government progress over the various projects while talking to journalists after a meeting with Indian High Commissioner Rajeet Mitter at the Secretariat.
On regional connectivity, he said the government is very much sincere to build regional connectivity with the neighbouring countries through roads and railway.
Communication with Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore would be easier once the road connectivity with Myanmar is done.
On government's plan for the development of railway sector, Hossain said new locomotives, passenger coaches, flat wagons, break vans and tank wagons would soon be added with the existing fleet.
