Ctg road crashes kill 2
Two persons were killed in separate road accidents at Rangunia and Sitakunda upazila in Chittagong yesterday.
The deceased were identified as, Jhinu, 45, a physical and mentally challenged woman, of Rangunia upazila and Mohammad Mintu, 19, son of Mohammad Apan of Gobindagonj upazila of Gaibandha.
Police said the accident occurred when a bus hit Jhinu from behind in front of Rangunia upazila Health Complex around 9:30am, leaving her seriously injured.
She was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where physicians declared her dead.
Meanwhile, a Dhaka-bound private car ran over Mintu while he was crossing Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Bara-Awlia bazar under Sitakunda upazila around 6:30am.
Critically injured Mintu was rushed to the CMCH where he succumbed to his injuries around 9:45am, said police.
Police detained the bus and the car but drivers fled away.
