Call to protect archaeological sites
Speakers at a discussion meeting on Tuesday stressed the need for effective measures to conserve and protect the heritage and archaeological sites in the country.
Due to mismanagement and lack of proper conservation, a number of heritage and archaeological sites are at the verge of extinction, causing economical losses to the country. So effective measures should be taken immediately to protect those sites.
The discussion was organised by Department of Archaeology of Jahangirnagar University, says a press release.
Addressing the function, Manzur Jalil, representative of Remmers Baustoftecnik Company, focused on different technologies of the company to protect the country's archaeological sites.
Eminent Archaeologist Sufi Mustafizur Rahman, Syed Kamrul Ahsan, Assistant Prof Masud Imran and Bulbul Ahmed, among others, also spoke at the function.
