Female garment worker found dead
A female readymade garment worker was found dead in a house at Khailkur in Gazipur yesterday.
Locals said they found Sonia, 18, lying in a house, which was locked from outside. Her husband rented the house, they added.
Sonia's husband had been absconding after the incident.
Police suspected Sonia's husband Mozammel Haque, 22, may have strangled her and fled away.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Masud Rana Shamim, sub-inspector of Joydevpur Police Station, said there were black marks on both sides of her neck.
Sonia worked for Arrow Design garment factory at Board bazar.
Locals said the couple had quarrels frequently.
