New pay scale for teachers on the cards

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday said initiatives would be taken to form a pay scale and enhance dignity of the teachers. Describing teachers as the architect of nation building, he urged them to devote themselves to their profession. Nahid was addressing a discussion marking the World Teachers Day-2010 at Dhaka University senate building auditorium as the chief guest. Bangladesh National Commission for Unesco and Unesco Dhaka Office jointly organised the programme.
