Man held with 350gms of gold
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) men and custom officials in a joint drive arrested a man along with 350 grams of gold and Indian Rs 2,28,900 at Chittagong Railway Station on Sunday night.
Acting on a tip off, the team, led by Senior Assistant Director of Rab 7 Jashim Uddin, raided the platform No-5 of the station at about 8:50pm and arrested Babul Sheikh, son of Hasan Sheikh of Lohagora upazila in Narail.
They seized 350gms of gold worth about Tk 10.80 lakh and the Indian currency from his possession.
Jashim Uddin said the arrestee during a primary investigation said that another man gave the rupees and gold to him in the port city for sending those to Sylhet.
The man was handed over to GRP Police Station.
