2 murdered
Two people were killed in separate incidents in the city yesterday.
The dead were identified as railway gateman Kabir Hossain, 30, posted at Banani Sainik Club Rail Gate and Mohammad Rony, 26, a fridge mechanic.
Railway police recovered the body of Kabir from Khilkhet Kha Para and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy.
Kabir's younger brother Kamal Hossain, also a railway gateman at Abdullahpur, told The Daily Star that Kabir had a cell phone and cash of Tk 20,000 in his pocket, which were missing.
Kamal suspects that muggers snatched the phone set and money from Kabir from Turag Express Train, which runs between Kamalapur to Joydevpur, pushed Kabir down the train.
In another incident, local people found seriously injured Mohammad Rony on Kamrangirchar Nayagaon main road at about 1:15am yesterday. They took him to DMCH where doctors declared him dead.
Rony's family members suspected that unidentified criminals stabbed him when he was returning home.
