DU expels one more stalker
Dhaka University authority yesterday expelled another student form the institution for one-year for his involvement in a 'stalking' incident.
The expelled student was identified as Riad Mahmud, an activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
Mahmud, a second year student of Bangla department, along with few BCL activists was stalking a female student, also a journalist, on the campus on November 7.
“We have found Riad guilty in the stalking incident after a primary investigation and taken the decision,” said DU Proctor Dr KM Saiful Islam Khan.
A show-cause notice will be served against Riad asking him to reply within November 24 why his studentship would not be cancelled permanently.
Earlier on November 8, four activists of BCL were expelled from DU for one year for stalking the female student and beating up six journalists who protested it.
