Khaleda Case

CJ regrets ban on journalists

Unb, Dhaka
Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque has regretted events on Wednesday barring journalists from covering case proceedings held in the Appellate Division over former prime minister Khaleda Zia's plea for a stay on the operation of the High Court verdict. Conveying the message, Registrar M Ashraful Islam, the spokesperson for the Supreme Court, yesterday told reporters that the SC authority did not issue any such embargo on journalists. It may have happened due to communication gap ahead of security arrangements on the SC precincts, he opined. He also said the Chief Justice has already instructed all concerned to extend all sorts of cooperation with the media men in discharging their professional duties.
