Dhaka elected to UN Women board with highest votes
Bangladesh has been elected to the executive board of the UN Women for 2011-12 with the highest 54 votes.
The election was held at Economic and Social Council (Ecosoc) at the UN Headquarters on Wednesday.
India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, China and Japan were also elected to the executive board, according to a message from Bangladesh mission at the UN in New York.
