Gazipur BNP leader hacked to death
A BNP leader was hacked to death by some assailants in Chhayabithi area of the district town early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam, 36, general secretary of Gazipur Pourashabha Ward No 6 and son of Jamir Uddin Mollah.
Police quoting witnesses said while Salam was returning to his rented house in Chhayabithi area from his nearby Niler para village home a gang of miscreants stabbed him indiscriminately at about 1:15am leaving him critically injured.
Later, locals rushed him to Sadar hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead early in the morning.
