40 hurt as villagers clash with cops in Rangpur
At least forty people including officer-in-charge (OC) and seven police constables of Kotwali Police Station were injured in a series of clashes between police and a number of villagers at Paglapir.
Police lobbed ten rounds of tear shells and three rounds of rubber bullets to disperse the villagers who blocked Rangpur-Dinajpur Highway from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
A number of locals hired The Roushan Circus and set circus instruments at Palapir bazar under sadar upazila without the administration's permission. The circus show was supposed to start yesterday but police barred them.
