Arms, ammo recovered in C'nawabganj
The Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) recovered one foreign pistol, two magazines and seven round bullets from Kiranganj village under Monakasha union of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj on early Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a BDR team of Kiranganj border outpost recovered the US made pistol and ammunition from the house of Mohammad Mohabbot at about 2:30am.
Sensing the presence of BDR, Mohammad Mohabbot, 38, son of Mohammad Hossain fled the scene, said Abu Bakar Abu, commanding officer of 39 Rifles Battalion of Chapainawabganj.
BDR handed over the seized arms to Shibganj Police Station and filed a case with the police station in this connection.
