At least two people were killed and 63 others injured in separate road accidents in Madaripur and Bagerhat yesterday. Our Correspondent from Madaripur reports: Locals blocked on Dhaka-Barisal highway for two hours yesterday protesting the deaths of two people in a road accident at Mostafapur in Madaripur Sadar upazila. Witnesses said a Dhaka-bound passenger bus rammed a rickshaw van at Mostafapur at about 10:30am, killing its two passengers and injuring three others. The deceased were identified as Dulal Kazi, 32, and Shaon, 8, reports our Madaripur correspondent. Angry people set fire to the bus and blocked the highway protesting the accident. Police went to the spot and brought the situation control at about 12:30pm. Police said a Morelganj-bound bus from Bagerhat fell in a ditch and turned turtle after ramming against a tree as its driver lost control over steering, injuring 60 passengers, some of them seriously, at Pingaria in Kachua at about 5:00pm. Twelve seriously injured were admitted to Bagerhat and Morelganj hospitals while the rest were receiving treatment at a local clinic. The bus driver and helper fled immediately after the crash.
