Prof Bari new VC of Ctg

Prof A S Mahfuzul Bari of Bangladesh Agricultural University is likely to be appointed vice-chancellor of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU).
Education ministry has decided to appoint Prof Bari as the new VC to remove the prevailing deadlock at the university, CVASU sources said.
Prof Bari is a teacher of pathology department and director of central laboratory of Bangladesh Agricultural University.
Prof Bari has given his consent to the government to take the responsibility of the post of VC, sources said.
Kamol Kanti Majumder, university unit convener of Bangladesh Chhatra League, said they are ready to congratulate the new VC. He said they the new VC will consider their demands.
The deadlock has been continuing in the country's lone veterinary university over the students' demand for removal of the incumbent VC Nitish Chandra Debnath since December 14 last year. The ruling party students' wing BCL enforced an indefinite strike strike at the university demanding removal of Nitish.
Chowdhury Mohammad Alauddin, treasurer of CVASU, is now acting vice-chancellor of the university.
