Two robbers arrested in city
Police arrested two suspected robbers early yesterday from the capital's Pallabi area and recovered cash and gold ornaments worth over Tk 2 lakh from their possession.
The arrestees were identified as Sirajul Islam Gazi of Munshiganj and Habibur Rahman of Barisal.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested the two robbers at about 4:30am and recovered four tolas of gold ornaments and Tk 1.30 lakh from their possession, said Iqbal Hossain officer-in-charge (OC) of Pallabi Police Station.
However, sources of the looted valuables have not been ascertained yet, said the OC, adding, the arrestees are notorious robbers in that area.
A case has been filed with Pallabi Police Station, he added.
