An appeal to the Prime Minister
One kilometre Mehdipur-Abdul Nabi Road, under Dagunbhuiyan, Upazila of Feni runs from Mehdipur Al-Amin Yatimkhana Complex to Mannan Sowdagar Bari Culvert on the Koraish Munshi-Senbag Road. Two hundred fifty metres of the road from Yatimkhana Complex to Mehdipur “Gazipukur Par” goes under knee-deep water during incessant rainfall and movement of traffic of all types remains totally suspended causing untold suffering of the people.
The scheme was submitted by the XEN, Feni in compliance with the Chief Engineer's memo No.LGED/CE/P-469/2009/441 dated 18-11-2009. It was expected that a small road scheme, measuring one kilometre and costing less than Tk 30 (thirty) lac would not require so much persuasion and 'Tadbir' after the local authority of LGED has submitted it, ie. XEN, Feni.
The Honourable Minister for LGRD, in answer to a written question in the first session of the 9th Parliament dated 07.04.2009 informed the house that the road would be developed into a pucca one after due feasibility study and allocation of funds. In spite of so much of base work and assurance by the honourable Minister it is sad that the fate of the scheme remains undecided.
It is most fervently requested that the honourable Prime Minister would kindly look into the matter so that the road scheme is approved and implemented during this financial year and sufferings of the people are mitigated.
