Phani made supernumerary IGP, Hasan full fledged IGP
The government yesterday appointed Phani Bhushan Chowdhury as the supernumerary Inspector General of Police (IGP).
“He will act as the police coordinator with the status of a secretary,” an official release said, adding that he will also look after recruitment, training and important cases of the government.
It said the government also promoted acting IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandakar to the rank of the full-fledged IGP.
Khandakar was appointed acting IGP on August 29, replacing Noor Mohammad.
