Navy man allegedly stabs wife to death
A woman was killed allegedly by her husband in Purgaon area of Pathalia union in city's Ashulia yesterday.
Ashulia police said Asma Begum, 21, a third year student of Debendranath College in Manikganj, and her husband Mohammad Ali, a member of Bangladesh Navy, came to visit Asma's uncle Mizanur Rahman's house in Ashulia.
When Asma and Ali went to the roof, Asma's aunt Farida Yasmin heard yelling and rushed there to find Asma dead with several stab wounds.
Locals caught Ali while he was trying to climb down a palm tree adjacent to the building. Ali then started stabbing himself indiscriminately.
He was later taken to Savar Combined Military Hospital.
