3 institutions' names sought from each MP
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday sought names of three educational institutions from each lawmaker of 300 constituencies to enlist them in the monthly payment order (MPO) list.
Replying to lawmakers' queries in parliament, the minister said the task for enlisting educational institutions in the MPO list will begin in next February.
The minister said task for printing and supplying of 23.20 crore books are going on in full swing. The books will be sent to upazila levels by December 21. He said the government will observe January 1 as "textbook festival day."
Nahid said a topic on stalking will be included in the textbooks for 2012.
The government plans to set up an affiliating Islamic University like the National University, he said.
He said the government is going to construct 3,000 new high school buildings, 10 in each of 300 constituencies. The construction work is likely to begin in next month, he said.
