Dipu Moni was addressing the two-day 'Third Asia Middle East Ministerial Meeting (AMED III)' as the keynote speaker on “Current Security Challenges: Inter-regional Solutions” in Bangkok yesterday.
The FM said the countries in Asia and Middle East are facing security threats and emphasised on closer cooperation to curb terrorism.
Noting terrorism as an all-pervasive menace, Dipu Moni suggested closer and greater inter-regional cooperation in monitoring and preventing terrorism financing.
The FM also highlighted the need to address the psychological and ideological causes of terrorism to combat this menace effectively. She specifically pointed out that if climate change threat is not addressed effectively, it might incite conflict between regions.
