Korea gives Tk 14cr for maternal care

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) yesterday donated Tk 14 crore to Unicef in Bangladesh to support home-based maternal and newborn care interventions. KOICA resident representative Lee Jung Wook signed the agreement with Unicef Representative Carel de Rooy in the city. It is the first time Unicef Bangladesh receives a grant from Korea. The donation will be used to provide a package of health interventions to an annual target population of 734,000 including 25,700 pregnant women, 20,200 newborn babies, 37,100 children under two years of age, and over 180,000 women between 15-49 years of age.
