City traders fined Tk 92,000

A market monitoring team of National Consumers Rights Protection Directorate (NCRPD) conducted drives at kitchen markets in the city yesterday. The team fined several traders a total of Tk 92,000 on charges of selling food without expiry dates on packets and for incorrect weighing machines that violate Consumers Rights Protection Act-2009, says an official release. NCRPD Senior Assistant Secretary M Moniruzzaman led the drives at Mohakhali DCC Market and Tejgaon Kalmilata Market.
