Mayor saves birds from slaughter

Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton yesterday released all the ten birds (locally known as Cha Pakhi) that were presented to him for consuming as food. A grassroots leader of Awami League, who the mayor did not identify, presented him some ten birds as gift at his Rajshahi Nagar Bhaban office. Khairuzzaman rebuked the leader for bringing the birds and decided to release those in the sky.
