Intra-Ctg train service soon

State Minister for Environment and Forests Dr Hasan Mahmud yesterday said government plans to start a train service in Chittagong from airport to Bhatiary and Bhatiary to Battali within a short time. "Present government also plans for a world class modern train service from Dhaka to Chittagong," he told in a view exchange meeting organised by Chittagong Press Club (CPC), adding that it would decrease the present gridlock situation there. To develop the city's communication with other part of the country, government will add new railway infrastructures in Dhaka-Chittagong railway, he said. Hasan said Ecnec already approved budget to reconstruct Chittagong-Hathajari and Chittagong-Dohajari rail connection. Newly elected CPC President Abu Sufian presided over the meeting while The Dainik Azadi Editor MA Malek, CPC Secretary Rashed Rauf and Chittagong Union of Journalist (CUJ) General Secretary Najimuddin Shyamal also spoke on the occasion.
