Robbery in Malibagh

Armed robbers looted cash and gold ornaments from an Awami League leader's house at Chowdhurypara in the city's Malibagh yesterday. Around 150 tolas (1,750 grammes) of gold ornaments and Tk 70,000 in cash were looted, the family members told Rampura police. Sub-inspector Alamgir Bhuiyan of Rampura Police Station said, “An armed gang of five entered through the back door of the two-storey building of Ali Newaj Khan, a member of Mohanagar Awami League, around 3:30am.”
