President asks armed forces members in Kuwait

President Zillur Rahman yesterday asked members of Bangladesh Armed Forces, deputed in Kuwait, to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity showing full respect to law and customs for elevating image and dignity of Bangladesh. "You would be success at anywhere on the globe by showing your strong moral, high professionalism and utmost sincerity, discipline and dedication," he said. He was addressing the President's Darbar of members of Bangladesh Armed Forces present at Sobhan Cantonment in Kuwait. Personnel of the Bangladesh Armed Forces are being deputed to Kuwait through an agreement between the defense ministries of both countries signed in 1980. Since the signing of the first agreement, 14,164 members of Bangladesh Armed Forces served in Kuwait. Presently Bangladesh Military Contingent consists of 3,776 personnel. The president said contributions of Bangladesh Army in upholding world peace are praise-worthy. "Our smart contingent, deployed at various countries under peacekeeping missions and other agreements abroad, have been playing a significant role in elevating our image to a great height at international arena."
