Special medical facility for FFs

The Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital opened a separate centre to provide intensive health service for the freedom fighters at Dhanmondi in the city yesterday. The freedom fighters will get the opportunity to receive treatment at the geriatric (branch of medicine deals with old-age complications) centre in low cost and even free on the basis of their financial condition, said the hospital officials. Freedom fighters will be able to have consultation from the specialists, to do medical check-up and take admission for treatment in the centre. Planning Minister Air Vice-Marshal (retd) AK Khandker inaugurated the centre as the chief guest. Capt (retd) ABM Tajul Islam, state minister for Liberation War Affairs, attended the ceremony as the special guest while two founders of the hospital Dr Sarder A Nayeem and Dr Jonaid Shafiq were present.
