Kalpona Chakraborty, mother of Bhanu Ranjan Chakraborty, chief news editor of ATN Bangla, passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Sunday at the age of 80, says a press release. She left behind her four sons, one daughter and many grandchildren to mourn her death. She was cremated in Postogola crematorium yesterday noon. Kalpona's shraddha will be held at Dhakeswari Mandir in the city on July 20.
