Lawmaker asks RMCH for probe on RU teacher's death
Lawmaker Fazle Hossain Badsha yesterday asked Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) authority to form a committee to investigate into the death of a Rajshahi University teacher allegedly due to negligence of on-duty doctors.
In a letter, Badsha asked the RMCH director to take action against anyone found responsible for the death of Prof Abu Nasser M Saleh, a teacher of Psychology department of Rajshahi University.
Prof Nasser died on July 4.
Badsha said the allegations came from Saleh's relatives and friends and expressed his anxiety over what the fate of ordinary citizens would be if a teacher like Saleh had to die in this manner.
His family alleges that the hospital wrongly diagnosed his condition and referred him to medicine and respiratory unit of RMCH instead of the cardiology department.
When contacted, RMCH Director Brig Gen Abdus Sabur said none was found negligent of duty according to an investigation by its four-member team.
