Punish Porimol
Urge noted citizens
A section of noted citizens yesterday demanded exemplary punishment to Porimol Joydhor, the sacked teacher of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, for his alleged sexual assault on a female student at his Badda coaching centre on May 28.
Viqarunnisa Noon School and College Sanghati Mancha organised the rally on Central Shaheed Minar premises in the city, chaired by Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism department Chairperson Gitiara Nasreen.
Prof Emeritus Serajul Islam Chowdhury, Jahangirnagar University Prof Anu Muhammad, theatre activist Mamunur Rashid and Bangladesh Mahila Parishad President Ayesha Khanam also spoke.
