Five BCL men hurt in CU clash
Five activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chittagong University (CU) unit were injured in separate factional clashes yesterday.
The injured are Ashique Aziz, Himel Chowdhury and Shovon Hossain, of English department and Hosne Mubaraok and Hedayet Ul Islam, of Philosophy department.
Witnesses said a group of BCL men swooped on Ashique, Mubaraok and Hedayet in front of the university central Shaheed Minar at about 11:30am and beat them up.
Meanwhile, in the afternoon around 3:30pm, two others BCL men Himel and Shovon were injured in infighting in Chittagong Shopping Complex area.
CU Proctor Dr Mohammad Akter Hossain said strong actions will be taken against the offenders.
