BGB-BSF conference begins in Khulna
The Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on the first day of a four-day deputy director general level conference yesterday discussed killings on the border.
The conference began at a hotel in Khulna where Brig Gen Abu Sayeed Khan, deputy director general of BGB, led a 14-member team while Inspector Generals of South Bengal, Malda and North Bengal of BSF attended the conference.
BGB sources said DDG protested the killing of innocent Bangladeshis on borders, creating panic by opening fire at border by members of BSF and abduction of Bangladeshis.
He also raised the issue of drug trafficking into the country from India.
The sources said sector commanders of Kushtia, Rajshahi, Rangpur and Dinajpur and officials concerned from home and foreign ministries attended the conference.
