Hasina informed the delegation about the steps taken by the government for establishing a full-functional democracy where the people will enjoy the supreme power. She said the government has taken numerous steps to ensure education and healthcare facilities for the people. She said the government has revived the community health clinics across the country to provide healthcare facilities to the rural people. The prime minister said newly launched Sangsad TV (Parliament TV) will be used for providing educational and healthcare information while the Parliament will be in recession. She said the government has taken various programs to make Bangladesh digital by 2021. The government has also taken many programs to eradicate poverty from the country, the main enemy of the region. The British delegation praised the pragmatic leadership of the prime minister, saying Bangladesh has achieved a lot during the last two and half-years. “The difference is visible, we came here two years ago. Now we are watching developments all over the country,” the delegation members said. They appreciated Sheikh Hasina's role in different international forums on various burning issues including climate change. “We are very much delighted to see your outstanding role,” they said. The British delegation also hailed the prime minister for her relentless effort to maintain good relations with neighboring countries.
