A hostel for Buddhist students of Chittagong University, Gobinda-Gunalankar Bouddha Chhatrabash, will reopen tomorrow (Saturday) after a weeklong closure triggered by a clash among the resident students, which left three of them injured on July 12. The hostel under Bishwa Shanti Pagoda is situated adjacent to CU campus. About 78 Buddhist students of the university reside there. Dr Jinobodhi Bhikshu, a professor of CU and principal of Bishwa Shanti Pagoda, announced the reopening yesterday and said nine resident students were temporarily expelled from the hostel as the probe committee found their involvement in the clash. They are Sudeb Chakma, Pritom Chakma, Anil Chakma, Milon Chkama, Shimon Chakma, Sohel Chakama, Ratul Chakma, Rubel Chakma and Swinthon Chakma.
