Two killed, 18 injured in road crash
Two people were killed and 18 others injured in a head-on collision between a Jafflong-bound speeding truck and a Leguna, locally made human hauler, on the Sylhet-Tamabil highway at Dharmi bridge in the district yesterday.
The deceased are Zainal Abedin, 30, and Abdul Mannan, 28, of village Gardana of Jaintapur upazila in Sylhet.
Agitating locals put barricade on the highway for two hours following the accident.
The injured were admitted to the Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet.
Police said drivers and helpers of the vehicles fled away after the accident but they seized the damaged vehicles.x
