Two students killed in road accidents
Two schoolboys were killed in road accidents in Sirajganj and Netrakona yesterday.
A Sirajganj correspondent reports: A schoolboy was killed on the spot after a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit his bicycle and ran him over near Jamirta Bridge in Shahjadpur upazila yesterday.
Deceased is Jewel Rana, 15, son of Shamsul Haq of Jamirta village and a class X student of Jamirta High School.
Our Netrakona correspondent adds: A schoolboy died on the spot as a bus knocked him down at Hironpur bazar in Purbadhola upazila yesterday.
The victim is Touhidul Islam, 15, son of Abdul Barek of village Ramchandrapur under neighbouring upazila Gouripur in Mymensingh district. He was a student of class IX of Hironpur High School.
Following the accident, students of two educational institutions and local people put a three-hour barricade on Netrakona-Mymensingh highway from 9:00am to 12:00noon.
