Two BCL activists clobbered at Ruet
Two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League were beaten severely at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) as they tried to snatch mobile phones from a resident student early yesterday.
The injured are Nabil Ahmed, a third year student of civil engineering and also the joint secretary of BCL Selim Hall unit, and Joni, a third year student of electric and electronics' engineering, of Ruet. They were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Around 2:00am, Nabil and Joni snatched two mobile phones from Sifat Rahman, a second year student of computer science, from room-17 of Tin-shed Hall, and threatened to kill him if the matter was disclosed. "As I shouted fearing the threat, students from the adjacent room caught the BCL cadres and beat them up severely", Sifat said. Police rescued the two.
